William C. “Bill” Booth, Jr., 62, of McMurray passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 16, 1952 in Leechburg, a son of the late William C. and Virginia Peterman Booth.
Prior to relocating to the McMurray area twelve years ago, Bill and his family resided in Johnstown.
In 1974, Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. He later earned his MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was a professionally registered mechanical engineer and retired earlier this year from First Energy.
Bill was an avid woodworker, gardener, and all around handy man. He enjoyed helping others and volunteered countless hours working with Habitat for Humanity, where he served a board member for over two years. He was also an avid Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and NASCAR fan.
On October 7, 1978 he married his loving wife, Debra Ann Brazil Booth, who survives.
Also surviving are two beloved daughters, Jennifer Irene (Kenn) McKenzie of Pittsburgh and Jessica Elizabeth (Michael) Zellam of Canonsburg; a sister, Peggy Harmon of Natrona Heights; a brother, Ed (Tina) Booth of Apollo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted and loving husband and father and will be missed by many.
Friends are welcome from 2-8 PM on Monday, August 3, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church of Canonsburg, 161 West Pike Street, Canonsburg with Rev. Dr. Debra Rogosky officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
