W. Leonard Patnesky age 94 of Canonsburg, passed away Friday, April 04, 2014 in the Greenery Specialty Care Center. He was born February 28, 1920 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa. the son of the late Stephen F. and Anna Petras Patnesky.
Retired from Universal Cyclops, Bridgeville where he worked for 38 years. He lived most of his life in Cecil. He was a member of White Eagles, P.N.U. Club and the Muse Independent Club. Mr. Patnesky was also an avid sports fan especially baseball watching the Pirate's and High School wrestling.
On June 29, 1946 he married his wife of 67 years Julia Maranka who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Leonard W. (Darling) Patnesky of Canonsburg, Raymond P. (Sandra) Patnesky of Canonsburg, a daughter, Jill C. (Dennis) Engel of Canonsburg, three grandchildren, Robert C. Patnesky, Bryan R. Patnesky and Tyler J. Engel, three step grandchildren, Scott (Brenda) Smith, Jay (Lisa) Smith and Amy L. (Louis) Abruzzi, five step- great grandchildren Also surviving are two brothers, Charles and Raymond F. Patnesky both of Lawrence, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased also are two brothers Edward and Louis Patnesky.
Friends are welcome on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/ supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. Services and burial are private. In lieu of flowers family suggest donations be made in Mr. Patnesky's memory to St. Patrick Church in care of "My Fathers House".
