Vincent G. "Vince" Braddock, Sr., 89, of Canonsburg passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 in Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born in Carnegie on March 24, 1925, a son of the late James and Lucy Braddock.
He proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1943-1946. Vince grew up in Strabane and spent most of his life in the Canonsburg area. He was a retiree of McGraw-Edison with over 42 years of devoted service. He was a member of the SNPJ #138 in Strabane, the VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg, and the American Legion in Houston. A fan of all sports, he especially enjoyed bowling with the SNPJ Sunday Bowling League for the past 61 consecutive years! He also enjoyed golfing with the SNPJ Sunday Morning Golf League. Vince spent countless hours working around his home and doing yardwork; he looked most forward to the family's beach vacation to North Carolina each year.
On November 27, 1948 he married his beloved, Sophia Kapustynski, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Vincent G. Braddock, Jr. of Lexington, KY; a daughter, Darlene L. (David) Bunevich of Strabane; a sister, Millie Schurr of Washington; and a granddaughter, Sarah L. Maleski of Strabane.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, James and Joseph Braddock.
Friends are welcome from 2-8 PM on Monday, January 5, 2015 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Interment, with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard, will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
