Victor Gasbarrini age 73 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Thursday August 22, 2013 in his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness. He was born February 4, 1940 in Muse a son of the late Giovanni and Maria Filauro Gasbarrini. He lived his entire life in Muse and was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and the Muse Independent Club. Mr. Gasbarrini had been employed for over 30 years at the former Forbes Steel Corporation and prior to his retirement he worked at St. Clair Memorial Hospital and the Washington County Health Center. He had been a fan and owner of standard bred race horses and enjoyed woodworking with many outdoor projects around his home.
On November 28, 1958 he married the love of his life, Lillian A. "Necca" Tatano who passed away November 10 2011. Surviving are two daughters, Carla (James) Adams of Canonsburg and Dawn Marie (Joseph) Preteroti of Muse, two sons; Victor J. Gasbarrini at home and Dante (Carole Adams) Gasbarrini of Muse, six grandchildren; Heather (Spencer) Anderson, Brandon Sharer, Shelby Adams, Mekala and Dante Jr. Gasbarrini and Selina and Jordon Preteroti, three great grandchildren, his faithful brothers and sister- in- law, two brothers; Joseph (Nancy) Gasbarrini, and John (Ann) Gasbarrini both of Canonsburg, two sisters; Antoniette (Steve) Vavrek of Strabane and Lola (Alan) Laskosky of Muse and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents is a sister Clara Leichty.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Saturday and from 2-8 pm Sunday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg. 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20 am followed by 10 am by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Muse, Monday, August 26, 2013, with reverend George DeVille, pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
