Veronica Strnisha age 94 of Canonsburg passed away Thursday March 22, 2012 in McMurray Hills Manor, Peters Twp. She was born May 11, 1917 in Pittsburgh a daughter of the late Benedict and Mary Bulowicz Urban. Mrs. Strnisha lived most of her life in the Muse, Canonsburg area and was a member of the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She had been a member of the Muse Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a 75 year member of the SNPJ Lodge 138 of Strabane. Mrs. Strnisha had enjoyed working as a waitress at the Mt. Lebanon Country Club, the Meadows Racetrack and the Candle Keller Restaurant. She had also been a caterer and was a devoted mother and homemaker.
On May 20, 1934 she married Vincent Strnisha Sr. who died December 10, 1994. She is survived by two sisters Helen Karencik and Josephine Rybacki both of Houston, a daughter in law Catherine Bartnick Strnisha of Canonsburg, eleven grandchildren; Vincent (Carol) Strnisha, Joelle (Timothy) Campbell, Joyce Burke, Deborah (Chad) Deliere, Mary Strnisha, Brian (Elaine) Strnisha, Vincent Strnisha, Amy Strnisha, Robert (Susan) Srnisha, Beth (Robert) Crouch and Michael (Lisa) Strnisha; numerous great and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved and faithful dog Rocky. Deceased are her four children; Robert , James, Vincent Strnisha and Helen Strnisha Palombi; three brothers; Joseph, Stanley and John Urban and two sisters, Anne Zadakis and Mary Stroud.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Sunday March 25, 2012 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 am Monday March 26, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Muse, with reverend George DeVille as celebrant.
