Veronica F. Nestor age 87 of Muse, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in her home.
She was born March 24, 1922 in Southview a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Tomazin Steiner. Mrs. Nestor lived the past 85 years in Muse and was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic church and the church's Christian Mothers and Guild. Mrs. Nestor was a graduate of Cecil High School and had been employed in the decorating department at the former Canonsburg Pottery Company. She was a founding member of the Muse Volunteer Fire Department, a member of both Muse and Canonsburg Senior Citizens and the Fraternal Order of Eagles861 and was a 60 year member of SNPJ Lodge 138 in Strabane. On July 20, 1946 she married William H. Nestor who died October 25, 1994.
Mrs. Nestor was the last of her immediate family. She is survived by her son William (Roxanne) Nestor, two grand-children Adina and Jerrod Nestor a great-grandson Caleb Nestor and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband is a son Frank R. Nestor, two sisters Agnes Pedeski and Matilda Heckathorne, two brothers Robert and Fred Steiner and her dear niece Mary Lou Pedeski.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724-745-8120) where a Blessing service will be held at 10 am Saturday, October 24, 2009. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray
