Family was the first priority for Mr. DeLost. Sunday drives, vacations, philosophical discussions and spur of the moment trips for ice cream or pizza are fond memories. His children and their friends would often hear life lessons and light-hearted anecdotes as they rode around the block.

From 1946 to 1983 he was employed by Pennsylvania Transformer, McGraw Edison, and Cooper Power Systems. He started as a draftsman, became a senior mechanical designer and retired after 38 years of service as an order services supervisor.

Mr. DeLost apprenticed with his father as a barber, obtained a license in 1947 and since the early 1960's, operated the Tony DeLost barbershop in Strabane.

Mr. DeLost was the President of the Board of Directors of the Slovenian Savings and Loan Association of Canonsburg from 1963 until his death. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the SSL since 1953.

Mr. DeLost was active in local and national civic and social organizations. He was a key member of the fundraising committee for the Frank Sarris Public Library in Canonsburg.

Mr. DeLost was a lifelong member of the SNPJ Lodge #138, Strabane and a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union (CFU), Cokeburg Lodge #354.
