Tony “Red” Bernardi age 83 of Muse passed away unexpectedly Tuesday July 14, 2015 in Allegheny General Hospital Pittsburgh.
He was born July 5, 2015 in Avella a son of the late Sam and Natalina Panone Bernardi. Mr. Bernardi lived most of his life in Muse where he was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and was a 1950 graduate of Cecil High School. He proudly served with the United States Army and prior to her retirement had been employed in Large Finnish at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries. On August 23, 1953 he married Theresa Dellarso who survives. Also surviving are two daughters; Tammy Bernardi of Denver Colorado and Terri (Dan) Miller of Estes Park Colorado, four grandchildren; John and Mario Bernardi, Anthony Alterio and Scott Miller, three great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bernardi was the last of his immediate family. Deceased in addition to his parents is his son Tony Bernardi Jr. who passed away in 1990 a brother Geno Bernardi and three sisters; Mary DeFelice, Antionette Kacvinsky and Elizabeth “Lesa” O’Hare.
To honor the request of the deceased there will no public visitation and service. Private family viewing and services with reverend George DeVille officiating will be held at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. Interment with full military rites will be accorded at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville on Monday July 20, 2015.
