Timothy James Pournaras, 30, of Rostraver, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, December 21, 2014.
He was born on December 24, 1983 in Washington, a son of Chris Theodore and Rose Ann Basey Pournaras of Canonsburg.
Timothy James was a 2002 graduate of Canon McMillan High School. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he received his BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2006 and his Master's in Mechanical Engineering in 2012. Timothy had been employed by Westinghouse Electric Co.-Waltz Mill Facility as a Structural Engineer since 2006.
Tim took great pride in ownership of his 1888 farmhouse. He loved working on cars, doing repairs, restorations, etc. He was also an outdoorsman, spending time fishing, camping, and hiking. He enjoyed being a caretaker for family and friends alike and truly tried to help everyone he knew.
In addition to his parents, surviving are a brother, Thomas (Ashley) Pournaras of Brunswick, MD; paternal grandmother, Georgia Pournaras of Madison, VA; maternal grandmother, Ann Basey of Daisytown; uncles, Leonard Basey of Daisytown, Nicholas (Judy) Basey of Bentleyville, Timothy (Janet) Basey of Donora, and Angelo (Carol) Pournaras of Ambridge; and his aunt, Cynthia (Daniel) Miller of Madison, VA.
Timothy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Theodore Pournaras and his maternal grandfather, Steve Basey.
At the request of the family, the visitation and funeral service will be held privately followed by interment in Woodruff Memorial Park, North Strabane Twp.
