Thomas Cushma age 94 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, September 19, 2023, in South Hills Rehab. He was born January 4, 1929, in Strabane, a son of the late John S. and Josephine M. Klapack Kushma. Mr. Cushma lived his life in Strabane and Canonsburg and was Catholic by faith. He proudly served with the United States Army in the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 902 in Houston. Prior to his retirement he had been employed for 22 years at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems in Canonsburg. He was an avid outdoors man and repaired small engines as a sideline. Tom had been a member of Chartiers Masonic Lodge 297 of Canonsburg. On August 25, 1955, he married Frances A Curl who passed away March 23, 2013, after 57 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish his memory are his children Thomas A, David A. and Kathryn J. Cushma all of Canonsburg, his sisters, Margaret Striner of Canonsburg and Dorothy Bruce of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are two brothers, Steve T. and John C. Shadow” Cushma and a sister Anne Gerbliss

Friends and family are welcome from 2 until 7pm on Thursday September 21, 2023, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION Services, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724-745-8120) where a blessing service will be held at 10 am Friday September 22, 2023. Interment will follow with Full Military Rites accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard and the United States Army in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
