Theresa M. "Tree" Calabro age 66 of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born on May 24, 1942, in Canonsburg, the daughter of the late Mario and Amelia Maggi DiMuzio.
Mrs. Calabro graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, class of 1960, and later in life from Bradford School of Business with an Associates Degree.
She lived her entire life in Canonsburg, where she was an active member of St. Patrick Church, belonging to the church choir, Christian Mother's Guild ( past president), Parish Council, and when her children were in school, she coached soccer and basketball.
Mrs. Calabro was a member of Canonsburg Italian American Association.
She was a secretary for Canon McMillan High School guidance department, from January of 2000 and retired in June of 2007. In her earlier years she worked for Mayview State Hospital and EMCO Food Service Systems.
Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially at there annual Memorial Day picnics.
She loved to read, do cross word puzzles, watching Jeopardy and Judge Judy. She also loved to watch sports especially the Steelers
On June 23, 1962, in St. Patrick Church, she married Dominick C. "Donnie" Calabro, Jr. who survives.
Also surviving is daughter, Dana C. Calabro (Dan Caruso, Jr.) of Canonsburg; son, Dominick C. ( Angel) Calabro, III of Muse; three sisters, Rosalie McCoy of Canonsburg; Natalie DiMuzio Tissot of McMurray; Mary Lou DiTullio of Canonsburg; several nieces and nephews; three Aunts, Mary Falcione of Canonsburg; Julia Pallaria of Eighty Four and Melvian Maggi of Washington and many cousins.
Deceased in addition to her parents are three brothers-in-law, John "Buck" McCoy, Paul Tissot and Marshall J. DiTullio.
Friends will be welcome on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 27, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 9:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Canonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to American Diabetes Association or to St. Patrick's Church Organ Donation. St. Patrick's Choir will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
