Theodore F. Lazorchak

Theodore F. Lazorchak age 88 of Strabane passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Allegheny General Hospital do to complications of a fall.
He was born on May 22, 1923 in Canonsburg, the son of the late Michael and Anna Senay Lazorchak.
Mr. Lazorchak was a graduate of Canonsburg High School, class of 1941. After graduation he enlisted with the United States Navy where he completed Naval Radio Training school. During his time of service he received the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
After his honorable discharge, he received a A.B. in History from the University of Michigan in 1952 and a J.D. Law from University of Notre Dame in 1955.
Mr. Lazorchak was a long time member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, where he served for 29 years as a trustee.
Mr. Lazorchak retired after 29 years with Allstate Insurance as a Senior Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster.
On May 21, 1960 he married his beloved wife Helen A. Zubenko who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Leah (David) Stockman of Canonsburg, and grandson Nathan Stockman.
Deceased also are two sister, Anna Lazor and Julia Koman and four brothers, Harry, William, Michael and Paul (Jack) Lazorchak.
Friends are welcome on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM and on Friday from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8 PM at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 601 Boone Ave. Canonsburg, where a Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM, please meet family at church at 9:30 AM, with the Very Reverend Joseph Oleynik, pastor officiating. Parastas service held Friday at 7:00 PM in church. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. Full military rites will be accorded by the combined honor guard VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston. Arrangements are entrusted to Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/ supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120.
