Shirley A. Gisoni of Washington passed away on December 3, 2023, following a brief illness.
She was born on April 7, 1935, to the late Harry and Alice (Grimes) Ullom of Washington.
Shirley was a graduate of Chartiers High School, Class of 1953. She married her husband Alphonse on July 4, 1958. She worked for RCA Meadowlands, McMurray Hills Manor and for Washington County Domestic Relations where she retired in 1997. Shirley is survived by her children Michael (Sheri) Gisoni, and Roxanna (Gordon) Laubert; grandchildren Regina (John) Smiddy, Michael Gisoni, Anthony Gisoni, Jarod, Stephen (Stefanie) Reifsnyder, Juliana (Michael) Fink, Adam Laubert, Patrick Laubert, Kaitlin (Doug) Bird; thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews including Daniel Dodd and John Pozonsky who included her in their activities and provided her with loving companionship in the final years of her life, and Dixie Avola who provided her with companionship and a place of respite in her final years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alphonse Gisoni who died on November 6, 2018, her eleven older siblings, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews including Roxanna Ullom and Michele (Ullom) Pozonsky with whom she was especially close.
Friends and family are welcome from 9 am until 10:20 am on Saturday December 9, 2023, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am in Immaculate Conception Church St. James Parish 118 West Chestnut Street Washington. Entombment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery will follow.
