Shannon L. Anesetti, 30, of Canonsburg passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in her home.

She was born on September 19, 1985 in Washington, the daughter of Michael C. (Patricia Williams) Anesetti of Canonsburg and Toni A. (Dereck Arent) Fortunato Anesetti of Houston.

Shannon was a 2004 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, where she played goalie for the hockey team.  She was awarded a hockey scholarship from Buffalo State University.  In 2010, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Buffalo State with a major in earth sciences.  Hockey was Shannon’s passion; she loved the sport.  She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe playing hockey.  In addition to high school and college, she also played hockey locally, including playing on a team with her Dad, which they both enjoyed.  Shannon spent several years in Buffalo prior to returning to the Canonsburg area three years ago.

In addition to her parents, also surviving is her paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Farrie of North Versailles; maternal grandparents, Shirley Fortunato of Strabane and Anthony Fortunato of Canonsburg; and several aunts and uncles, Chris (Dana) Carf of Houston, Jamie (Abby) Lemon of Muse, Tony Fortunato of Strabane, Eugene (Stacey) Farrie of Oakdale, Mary Louise (Carol Mauder) Cantola of North Versailles, and Lorraine (Ron) Fortunato of Buckhannon, WV.

She is also survived by her beloved cats, Lucky, Baby, and Greedy.

Shannon will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of Shannon’s life will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the home she shared with her father at 348 Morganza Road, Canonsburg.  The family encourages you to come and share your favorite memories, photos, and hockey memorabilia.  Refreshments will be served.
