Selma J. Missel, age 81 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021 at TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg with her family by her side.
She was born on September 29, 1939 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Mackiewicz.
Selma worked as an assembler at SKC Inc., in Eighty-Four for over 25 years. She was known for her delicious cookies and nut rolls. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Once the warm weather hit, you could find Selma in her rocking chair on the porch reading, talking with neighbors and enjoying her plants and flowers. She was a member of St. Patrick Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish
On January 7, 1967, she married William “Bill” Missel who passed away on May 25, 2016. Left behind to cherish her memory is her son Michael (Yvette) Missel of Whittier, California; two daughters Susan Smith of Burgettstown and Joy (Patrick) Greely of Houston; grandchildren Frank Arrendo, Alyssa (Michael) Manriquez, Ryan and Hayley Missel, Samantha (Joph) Greyno, William and Heather Smith and Daniel and Matthew Greely and great-grandchildren Mikey, Mikayla and Maddox. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are her brother Joseph Mackiewicz and sister Patricia Corrick.
Private family services with interment at Forest Lawn Gardens, will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120.
