Sandra Lee Berry, age 70 of Canonsburg, died Thursday, September 3, 2009 in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born July 16, 1939 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late James and Mayme Peci Debbis. Also deceased is her stepfather James F. Smith.
Mrs. Berry lived most of her life in the Canonsburg and Washington area, graduated from Canonsburg High School and was a member of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church, where she was a choir member and Youth Group leader. She was self employed for 25 years as Berry's Cleaning Service. Mrs. Berry was and avid bowler, bowling in Canonsburg leagues. She was a poet, song writer and loved to cook.
Surviving are two daughters Elaine (Randy) Bigler and Lynn (Tom) Yakopin, and a son David (Sandra) Berry all of Washington, a sister Susan (Jim) Neuman of Eighty Four and her former husband Donald Berry; nine grandchildren, Brent and Hunter Bigler, Joshua, Olivia and Tasha Berry, Jennifer, Audrey, Neal and Caitlin Yakopin , three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday and from Noon -1pm Saturday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg Services will be held at 1 pm Saturday September 5, 2009 in the funeral home with Reverend Donald Austin , Pastor of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to UPMC CVI Pulmonary Hypertension Program, Forbes Tower, Suite 8084, 3600 Forbes Avenue At Meyran Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213
