Ruth E. Tilger 85 of Canonsburg died Saturday, March 14, 009 at 2:37AM, in The Washington Hospital.
She was born December 31, 1923 in Jeanette, the daughter of Charles E. and Mona Schmidt Raviart.
Mrs. Tilger was a licensed practical nurse for 23 years, before her retirement in 1993 from Thomas Nursing Home in Canonsburg.
She liked to cook, travel, go shopping and enjoyed bowling.
On December 7, 1945 she married Charles E. Tilger who survives.
Also surviving is daughter, Lois E. Downs of Canonsburg, sister, Loise Rose of Jeanette; four grandchildren, Shawn Sutton, Erin Timko, Alan Repman and Chad Downs; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Deceased is one sister, Dolores Tilger.
Friends are welcome on Monday, March 16, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Craig Kephart officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
