Rudolph "Rudy" Martincic, 84, of Canonsburg passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
He was born on April 18, 1930 in Muse, a son of the late Anton and Jennie Blazic Martincic.
Rudy proudly served his country during the Korean War with the U. S. Army. He was a member of the SNPJ Lodge # 138 in Strabane, the VFW Post # 191 in Canonsburg, and the American Legion Post # 902 in Houston. Prior to his retirement from Cooper Industries in 1992, Rudy had worked with RCA. He enjoyed gardening and playing the accordion. He especially enjoyed life after his retirement by visiting and spending time with friends and family.
On July 16, 1960 Rudy married Tressa C. Bosak, who survives.
Also surviving are his loving son, Andrew M. (Jenifer Blasinsky) Martincic of Canonsburg and two sisters, Tillie Santis of Queens, NY and Betty Morris of Valrico, FL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Andy and Tony Martincic and a sister, Freda Cantwell.
Friends are welcome on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in Rudy's name to the SNPJ Scholarship Fund, 247 West Allegheny Road, Imperial, PA 15126-9902.
