Roy Donald (Pick) Martin Jr., age 56 of Washington died unexpectedly Wednesday March 23, 2011 in his home following a brief illness.
He was born June 14, 1954 in Washington a son of Lillian Hampson Martin of Canonsburg and Roy Donald (Diane) Martin Sr. of Cameron West Virginia.
Mr. Martin lived his entire life in the Canonsburg and Washington area and was protestant by faith. Prior to his retirement he had been employed as a welder at the former D.B.T. in Houston. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, motorcycle riding and was an avid Steelers fan. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
On December 4, 1982 he married Donna F. Hayman who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his son, Roy Donald Martin III of Washington, His daughters Crystle Dawn (Michael) Munch of Hendersonville and Kimberly Martin of Canonsburg, his brother Art. F. (Susan) Martin of Dairy, his sisters Penny Sue (Mickey) Wagner of Canonsburg and Shirley Ann (Donald) Denny of Houston, four step sisters, Ruth Ann, Julie, Sherri and Jennifer, seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are his son Brian D. Martin who died March 17, 2010, his brother David Lee Martin and a sister Linda Sue Martin, who died in Infancy.
Friends are welcome from 2-4pm, the time of service, Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. (724) 745-8120. Reverend Stephen Parkhill will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the family to help defray expenses.
