"Little Joe's Aunt"
Rose M. Casarcia age 91 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully at 4:15 am Thursday September 19, 2013 in the IHS Greenery following an extended illness. She was born January 27, 1922 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Dominic and Eleanora Lombardi Casarcia. She graduated from Canonsburg High School then was self employed at Rose's Cleaners in Canonsburg and Dravo during World War II. Prior to her retirement she was employed as an aid at the former Western Center. Miss Casarcia lived her entire life in Canonsburg where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers and Guild. She enjoyed her cats, garage sales and flea markets. In her free time she helped out at Little Joe's Market and Trovato's Restaurant where she was affectionately know as "Little Joe's Aunt".
Surviving is her beloved niece and grandnephews, Anna Marie Trovato and her sons Joseph and John Trovato with whom she made her home prior to her illness, and many other nieces and nephews, Miss Casarcia was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are three sisters; Ann Polochak who passed away July 10, 2010, Angeline Quevus and Lena Diana and five brothers; Colombo, Guy, Joseph, Patsy and Frank Casarcia.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Saturday and from 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 am Monday September 23, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
