Ronald B. "Ron" Gill age 74 of Canonsburg, died Monday, November 01, 2010 in Town View Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born on September 9, 1936 in Sewickley, the son of Freeda Boop Gill and the late Burton Gill.
Mr. Gill served with the Untied States Navy, Commandant 4th Naval District, in the air transport squadron eight and received the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a self employed, owner/operator Tractor Trailer driver.
Mr. Gill was a member of Moose Lodge 22 of Washington, Mason Lodge # 0164, American Legion Post 902 of Houston and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg.
He loved to work on cars, ride his motor cycle, go to his camp in Ohio, traveling with his wife and enjoyed the companion his dog honey and cat spooky.
On March 23, 1974 he married Jackie Masi Gill, who survives.
Also surviving in addition to his mother, are sons, Gary Gill of Aliquippa; Donald Gill of Glen Shaw; three step children, Dennis, Joseph and Marcia Masi all of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, sister, Beverly Gill Garwood of Orange Valle, Calf.; brother, Roger Gill of Claysville; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 10:00 am with Senior Pastor Jack Stepp officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Mc Kees Rocks. Family suggest, in lieu of flowers donations be made to Washington Area Humane Society P.O. Box 66 Eighty Four, Pa. 15330, in memory of Ron. Full military rites will be accorded by combined honor guard VFW Post 191 and American Legion Post 902.
