Robert M. "Spank" Byers

Robert M. “Spank” Byers age 53 of Scott Twp. passed away peacefully Friday January 27, 2023 in St. Clair hospital with his devoted family and friends by his side. He was born December 8, 1969, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Richard and Sarah Frances “Frankie” Nackoul Byers. Bob lived most of his life in the Canonsburg, Scott Twp. area and twenty years in Fredericksburg Va. Spank was a Roman Catholic. He was a graduate of Canon- McMillan Sr. High School class of 1988 and earned a bachelor’s degree while in Virginia. As an insurance agent, Bob had been employed with Marley Financial, where he was passionate about his clients. Bob loved Yough Lake, where he was a member of “prestigious” Dock 1. He most enjoyed time spent on his Christ Kraft cabin cruiser the SS POOKIE. He was a board member of the Beadling Sports Club and was happy to be with his family, friends and support group, especially the kids who just loved “Uncle Bob”. On December 10, 2022, he married his loving companion of 12 years Stacey A.  Altman who survives. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his children Erin Altman of Pittsburgh, Emily, Alexis, Robert, Olivia and Gia Byers, all of Fredericksburg, Va., his brother Richard Byers and his wife Kim of Enterprise Alabama, his sister Barbara Gooch and her husband James of Claysville and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Bob's family and friends would like to thank the staff and Doctors at St. Clair Hospital for their kindness and all the help given through their difficult times.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 until 8pm Sunday January 29, 2023, in SALANDRA FUNERAL ANDCREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg where Catholic Blessing services will be held at 7pm. Interment will be private, and the family would like to invite friends to a  Celebration of Life luncheon Monday at 2:00 pm at the Beadling Sports Club 675 Painters Run Road Pittsburgh 15241.
