Robert W. “Rob” Mary, age 88 of Houston, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, December 29, 2024, in his home with his devoted family by his side. He was born on December 7, 1936, in Houston, a son of the late Frank and Mary Spin Mary. Rob lived his entire life in Houston and was a graduate of Chartiers High School class of 1954. He was a member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church in Canonsburg. Prior to his retirement, Rob had been employed at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries for 32 years. Rob had a great love and interest in all trains from models to great locomotives, Credence Clear Water Revival and John Fogerty’s music and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren especially at beach vacations at the Outer Banks. Special times were the Saturday morning family breakfasts at his home. On June 8, 1957, he married the love of his life and best friend, Loretta J. Murray who passed away January 20, 2011, after 53 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Susan (John) Crumrine of Houston, Robert W (Jody) Mary Jr. of Houston, Robin (Mike) McClenathan of Washington, Philip J. (Beth) Mary of Venetia and Christopher (Amy) Mary of Canonsburg, grandchildren, Ashley (Nate) Purcell, Bobby III (Jessica), Sammy, Philip, Luke, Julia (Andrew) Weiss, Matthew, Lindsey, Zach, Ava and Alivia, great grandchildren, Maxx, Micah and Eli Mary Nash and Navy Purcell and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mary was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are his four sisters, Alma Longo, Sara M. Rosmon, Gerry Mary, and Lucille Rosello and two brothers Frank and Sam Mary.
Family and friends are welcome from 1pm until 8 pm Thursday January 2, 2025, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg where departing prayers will be recited at 11:45 am Friday, January 3, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30pm in St Patrick Church St. Oscar Romero Parish 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
