Robert W. Massey of Eighty Four died Monday January 21, 2013 in Canonsburg General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born May 21, 1940 in Windsor Canada a son of the late Wilford and Nellie Stemmler Massey. Mr. Massey had served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, had been an aircraft mechanic and was self employed in various fields. On May 30, 1981 in Michigan, he married Gay DeLestienne who survives.
Mr. Massey was a social member of the VFW post 764 of McMurray, a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Canonsburg Senior Citizens. He was a member of the SWPAAA serving on the Sub advisory Committee, Special Activities Committee, and Nutrition Site Review Committee also serving as a board member of the Frank Sarris Library in Canonsburg. He enjoyed gardening, candy making, traveling and volunteering.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five daughters; Neleen, Corinna, Sheena, Tammy and Eva a son Robert Massey and several grandchildren, stepchildren Veronica Susalla, Valerie (Mike) Seng and Ted (Anne) Sussalla , step grandchildren Matthew, Steven, Eric, Andrea, Michell, Greg and Amy, step great grandchildren Alayna and Zoey. A brother James Massey,Ontario Canada, a sister Cathy Hodyka, Michigan a sister Jolly is deceased.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/ supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg where services will be held at 10:00 am Friday January 25, 2013 with reverend Donald Austin officiating. Private entombment will be held in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Mrs. Massey suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital p.o. box 100 Department 142 Memphis TN 38101-9908 or the Wounded Warrior Project p.o. box 758517 Topeka KS 66675
