Robert F. Klinger age 82 of Canonsburg passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Golden Living of South Hills. He was born on September 22, 1931 in Canonsburg the son of the late Steven and Minnie Marx Klinger.
Mr. Klinger served in the United States Army in Korean War. He lived most of his life in Canonsburg. Mr. Klinger worked as an ironworker for Local 550 and for UMWA Local 2394 before his retirement. He was a member of American legion Post 902 of Houston and the SNPJ Lodge #138 of Strabane.
On July 2, 1954 he married his beloved wife Donna J. Dixon, who passed away on September 13, 2004. Surviving are three sons, Robert F. (Bernie) Klinger of Muse, Gary A. Klinger of Athens, OH., and Richard J. (Beth) Klinger of Houston, four grandchildren, Mindy (Tim) Patterson, Charlene "Charlie", Jacob and Aaron Klinger and great-grandson Gavin Patterson.
At the request of Mr. Klinger there will be no visitation. Services and burial will be private and held at later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120.
