Robert B. Kendo, 89, of Canonsburg, formerly of Westland, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Dunglen, Ohio on January 8, 1926, a son of the late Lewis and Katherine Siders Kendo.
Mr. Kendo proudly served with the U. S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman First Class and was a member of the VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg and the American Legion Post 902 in Houston. In 1988 he retired from McGraw Edison with over 30 years of service. Mr. Kendo was an avid sports fan and thoroughly enjoyed baseball, especially the Pirates. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and puzzle books. Above all, he loved listening to polka music.
On May 23, 1987 he married his loving wife, Angeline R. Manduzio Kendo, who survives.
Also surviving are two beloved daughters, Sandra L. (David) Clark of Washington and Kathy A. (Ricky) Clark of Claysville; a sister, Ethel Kolovich; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Travis, Hillary, Tracy, Jimmy, Joe, and Chad; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special buddy, Bill.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Kendo, who passed away on September 23, 1982; a brother, Leonard Kendo; and a sister, Betty Mulshen.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Interment, with full military honors rendered by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard, will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
