Robert L. "Bob" Ford, 67, of Houston passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Allegheny General Hospital, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born in Washington on July 28, 1947, a son of the late Howard P. and Freda E. Divich Ford.

Bob was a graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and a proud Reservist with the United States Marine Corps. After 29 dedicated years, he retired in 2005 from Consolidated Coal. Bob was a member of the VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg and the American Legion Post 902 in Houston. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the Steelers, and NASCAR.

On July 2, 1979 he married Janet Talpas Ford, who survives.

Also surviving are a brother, Howard "Butch" Ford of Redmond, OR; a step-son, Ritch Franks of Taos, NM; a brother-in-law, Dennis Talpas of Butler; and several cousins.

Bob also leaves behind his canine girlfriend, Sassy.

Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2015 with Rev. Steve Parkhill officiating. Interment, with full military honors rendered by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard, will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
