Richard Donald Meny age 82 of Canonsburg passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Canonsburg General Hospital. He was born August 16, 1930 in Strabane a son of the late Joseph and Helen Mezek Meny.
Mr. Meny lived his entire life in Strabane and Canonsburg where he attended South Canonsburg Church. Prior to his retirement in 1978 he had been employed as a press operator at the former Continental Can Co. He had been employed at Service Master and was self employed in cleaning for many years. He loved being with his family and enjoyed the casino and his dog Charlie Brown. Mr. Meny was well known for his delicious cheesecakes.
On July 13, 1991 he married Danile Charles who survives. Also surviving are his son Randy (Shirley) Meny of Rochester, two daughters Tami (Walter "Boo") Cyprowski of Canonsburg and JoLynn (Donald) Pritts of Wolfdale, nine grandchildren Jenna Lee Meny, Randy (Amanda) Meny, Jenna Smith, Chad Meny, Jonathan Cyprowski, Destiny (Nic) Morris, Dawn Marie (Keith) Wodusky, Michele Pritts and Danielle Pritts, one great grandson Seth Michael Wodusky, his mother in law Joann Charles of Cecil and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are a brother Joseph Meny and a sister Vida Kay.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 10 am Thursday January 24, 2013 with pastor Steve Parkhill officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray
