Richard Dale Harter, Sr.

Richard "Dick" Dale Harter, Sr. 59, of Washington, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 8:18 PM in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1949 in Waynesburg, the son of the late Harvey and Margaret Savage Harter.
Mr. Harter served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1970 over in Korea and later was transferred to United States Army Reserve being discharged in March of 1975.
He worked for the former Maggi Construction as a truck drive and mechanic.
Mr. Harter enjoyed working on tractors, going to tractor pulls and loved spending time with his grandson.
On July 12, 1968 he married Jo Ann "Dolly" Yesenchak, who survives.
Also surviving is son, Richard (Linda) Harter, Jr. of North Pole, Alaska; daughter, Holly A. Harter of Washington; two grandchildren, Aundrea Lynn Harter and Kai Anthony Balazy; two brothers, Harold "Jack" (Marsha) Harter of Prosperity; Paul (Dorothy) Harter of Confluence; mother-in-law, Mary Yesenchak of Muse; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 atv10:00AM with Rev. Catherine Peternel officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by the combined honor guards Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 and American Legion Post 902 of Houston.
