Reno Carl Panelli, 87 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018 in Hawthorne Woods in Washington.
He was born on December 14, 1930 in Midland to Antonio and Bartolina Zambelli Panelli who preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Chartiers High School where he participated in many sports including wrestling, football and baseball.
On July 14, 1956 he married Velia V. Vittoria who passed away on October 30, 1990.
He was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Canonsburg where he served as an usher for many years.
Mr. Panelli was a veteran having served his country in the United States Navy serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post #191 in Canonsburg.
He was employed as a steelworker with McGraw-Edison in Canonsburg for 30 years until his retirement in 1993.
He is survived by two sons Anthony C. Panelli (Rosa) of California and Robert C. Panelli (Kathleen) of Canonsburg, his only daughter Pamela Baker (John) of Uniontown, a sister Mary DeVitis of Canonsburg, three grandchildren Dario, Lindsay and Giada Panelli and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome from 2~4 pm and 6~8 pm. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor and Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 317 W. Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Canonsburg with full military rites accorded by VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg and the United States Navy Honor Guard.
