Regina Celento Berzinsky, 88, of Canonsburg passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016, following a brief illness.
She was born March 28, 1928 in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Staffen Celento.
Mrs. Berzinsky graduated from Canonsburg High School and attended Seton Hill College. She was an accomplished pianist and had a professionally trained singing voice. For many years, she gave piano lessons in her home. She had a passion for reading, crossword puzzles, and duplicate bridge.
On May 1, 1947 in St. Patrick Church, she married Joseph L. Berzinsky, who passed away on September 13, 2008.
Surviving are her four children, Thomas (Vanessia) Berzinsky, Nancy (Steven) Udodow, Blaise Berzinsky, and Joan Smith; grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Altman, Valerie and Joseph Mazza, Katie Udodow, Michael (Erolda) Berzinsky, Samantha and Christopher Berzinsky, and Clayton and Jamie Smith; step grandchildren, Christy (Tom) Sterling and Shawn (Cyndy) Blackhurst; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Alyssa Altman and Erin Berzinsky; step great-grandchildren, Sage and Carson Sterling; and a brother, Edward (Ann) Celento.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Carolyn Mazza; and two brothers, Joseph Celento, Jr. and James Celento.
Friends are welcome from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
