Raymond Albert Dubois age 86 of Houston, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 19, 1925 in Avella, Pa.; the son of the late Emile A. and Antoinette L. Fialon Dubois.
Mr. Dubois served with the Merchant Marines as a steward's mate 2nd class during World War II, at that time receiving Atlantic War Zone Bar and Mediterranean "Middle East War Zone Bar. After serving, he worked for General Motors for 30 years.
Mr. Dubois enjoyed watching sports. In his earlier years played several sports and for one year played for the Canonsburg Merchants league. He was a member of the Falcon Archery Club in Muse.
Surviving are beloved wife, Jane Penvose Dubois; sons, Raymond A. (Joy) Dubois Jr. of Cranberry Twp.; Alan Dubois of Vancouver, WA. five grandchildren, Vincent, Pierre, Robert, Michael and Patty Dubois; sister, Dorothy Farson of Fremont, OH; brother, Marcel Dubois of Des Moines, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased inaddtion to his parents are two sons Bradford and Randy Dubois, sister, Bertha Bickhart and brother, Emile A. Dubois, Jr.
Friends are welcome on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 12:00 PM noon with Rev. Dr. Steven Mentzer, Chaplin, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Full military honor will be accorded by the combined honor guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston. Family suggest in lieu of flowers donations can be made to SouthernCare Hospice of Washington 201 Johnson Rd. Houston, Pa. or to Canonsburg/ Houston Meals on Wheels in memory of Raymond.
