Paul Vargo, Jr. age 75 of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 16, 2010 in his home.
He was born August 24, 1935 in Canonsburg, the son of the late Paul and Susie Vargo, Sr.
Mr. Vargo lived his entire life in Canonsburg where he was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, graduate of Canonsburg High School, received a B.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and became a Certified Public Accountant.
He served with the United States Army with the Fourth Army Headquarters as Business Administration.
Mr. Vargo worked for Westinghouse Electric Corp., Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co. and retired as a C.P.A. from Joseph Senko and Associates.
He was a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania, also Pittsburgh Charter and Jefferson College Historical Society.
Mr. Vargo was an avid reader, enjoyed the company of his pets and watching the Steelers's and Pirates.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Deceased also are four sisters, Mary Svitek, Elizabeth Svitek, Susan Gnatovich and Anna Sonski; two brothers, Michael and George Vargo.
Friends are welcome on Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 9:00 am. Divine Liturgy Service will follow at 9:30 am in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, with Revered, Father Joseph Jugan officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Canonsburg. Family suggest in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Michael's Church or to Washington County Human Society. A Panachida Service will be held on Sunday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
