Patsy Pirillo, 82, of Avella and Strabane, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
He was born on November 19, 1933 in Avella, a son of the late John and Susie Pascuzzi Pirillo.
Mr. Pirillo was born and raised in Avella. He relocated to Strabane after his marriage.
He proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Patsy retired after 40 devoted years of service from Climax Molybdenum Company in Langeloth. He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, which he enjoyed very much. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He took great pride in his hunting and fishing accomplishments. Patsy also enjoyed watching the Penguins hockey and Steelers football games.
On January 14, 1956 he married his beloved wife, Agnes Moze Pirillo, with whom he shared nearly 57 years. She passed away on March 10, 2013.
Surviving is his loving daughter, Patricia A. Roden of Duquesne; a brother, John Pirillo of Avella; two sisters, Violet Pirillo Hines of Washington and Mary (Ron) Pirillo Kovach of La Porte, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank Pirillo, James Pirillo, Pete Pirillo, and Nicholas Pirillo and two sisters, Catherine Pirillo Panjuscsek and Lena Pirillo Noga.
Friends are welcome from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with a blessing service beginning at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120. The Knights of Columbus prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM. Private interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
