Patricia K. Salandra age 83 of Muse passed away peacefully on Thursday February 26, 2015 in Town View Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg following and extended illness. She was born March 10, 1931 in McDonald a daughter of the late William A. Sr. and Catherine McFarland Walker. Mrs. Salandra lived in Muse since 1932 where she was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and Guild and the Alter Society. She graduated from Cecil High School class of 1950. Mrs. Salandra had been employed in her youth at Chartiers Cleaners, the former Ft. Pitt Bridgeworks in Canonsburg and prior to her retirement had been a United States Postal Service employee for many years in Muse, Meadowlands and Washington. She was a member of GOL club, the Muse Independent Club Ladies Auxiliary, Muse Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time at her home on Deep Creek Lake with family and friends and going to the Meadows Casino.
On August 20, 1955 she married Joseph J. (Penner) Salandra who passed away
Wednesday January 1, 2003. Surviving are three children Joseph P. (Jennifer) Salandra of Meadowlands, Michael W. (Lesley) Salandra of Glenwood, MD., her devoted daughter and care giver Eron K. (W. Bradley) Barnes, ten grandchildren Adam M. and Lauren K. Salandra, Blake A, Liam P. and Shannon K. Barnes, Taylor K., Christian J., Julia J., Maria E. and Michael A. Salandra and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are three sisters; Mildred D'Andre, Virginia Holder and Rita Mae Walker, and a brother William A. Walker.
Friends are welcome from 7-9pm Saturday and noon to 4 and 6-8pm Sunday, with a Rosary being recited at 12 Noon, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral Director 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30am A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10am in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Muse with reverend George T, DeVille, pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp.
