Patricia L. Romano, 81, of Canonsburg passed away, following an extended illness surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Golden Living Center, Canonsburg.
She was born in Washington on October 23, 1933, the daughter of the late Daisy Gottchalk Gaydos. She was also preceded in death by her step father, George "Wimpy" Gaydos.
A graduate of Canonsburg High School and a lifelong resident of Canonsburg, Mrs. Romano served her community as a Council Woman for 4 years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Muse, a 25 year member of the BPW, and had also served on the Democratic Women's Committee.
On June 26, 1954 she married James J. "Pooch" Romano, Jr. who survives.
Also surviving are her three beloved sons, James (Debbie Queen) Romano of Washington, John (Linda D'Amico) Romano of Canonsburg, and Jay (Cathy Cianelli) Romano of Cecil Twp.; five grandchildren, Carli Pitcock and Jamie, Jimmy, Jayson, and Jaret Romano; and three great grandchildren.
Friends are welcome from 2-8 PM on Monday, December 1, 2014 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a Blessing Service will begin at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 with Rev. George T. DeVille pastor of Holy Rosary Church as Celebrant. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
