Patricia A. (McElwain) Holzer

Patricia A. Holzer, 79, of Washington passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.

She was born on May 4, 1936 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Floyd and Florence O’Neill McElwain.

Patricia was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

On July 11, 1955 she married Sylvester G. Holzer, who passed away on May 30, 2015.

Surviving are four beloved children, Michael G. (Evelyn) Holzer of Avella, Debra Medley of Florida, Karen (Frank) Valencic of Canonsburg, and Cynthia (James) Leckemby of Daisytown; a sister, Maryann Lubbert of North Hills; nine grandchildren, Everet Medley, Frank, Eric, and Jim Valencic, Michael, Johanna, and Sarah Holzer, and Amanda and Jamie Leckemby; a great granddaughter, Elisha Medley; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, William, Ronald, and Edward McElwain; and a sister, Ruth Swieconek.

Friends are welcome from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 15, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a Catholic Blessing Service will begin at 7:30 PM Monday evening.  Private interment will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
