Patricia L. Gamble
On May 2nd, 2009, of Canonsburg, age 76, devoted and loving mother of Michele (Jim) Jarrett of Peters Township, PA; Linda Kirkland of Queensland, Australia; Michael (Beth) Gamble of Peters Township, PA; proud grandmother of Michael and Melissa Jarrett, Matthew and Kelly Kirkland and Justin Gamble; beloved sister of Roy Fredericks of North Strabane, PA; Frances Funka of Easton, PA; Ray Fredericks of Youngstown, OH; Ronald Fredericks of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the late Robert Fredericks; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
Patricia raised her three children as a single mom, usually working two, and occasionally three, jobs to support her family. For the last twenty years she worked in the candy store at Sarris Candies in Canonsburg, where she established many new friendships later in life. "Pat" was still working at Sarris' until January of this year, when her sudden illness was diagnosed.
Her lifelong generosity, caring and selflessness will be sorely missed by countless friends, neighbors, co-workers and family.
Friends and family will be received from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 7th at Salandra Funeral Home on West Pike Street in Canonsburg, PA. At 3:00 PM on the 7th, the Christian Mothers will say the Rosary at the funeral home.
Blessing Service will take place at 9:30 AM on Friday, May 8th at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Friday May 8th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, also on West Pike Street in Canonsburg.
Any charitable donations may be made to either Relay For Life or to The Donnell House in Washington, PA
