Patricia A. "Patti" Askew age 57 of Canonsburg (Chartiers Township) died unexpectedly in her home on Thursday, July 1, 2010.
She was born on September 15, 1952 in Canonsburg, the daughter of the late Vincent J. and Mary Jane Smith Ranone.
Patti was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School class of 1970 and a member of St. Patrick Church.
She worked for Wal- Mart in customer service and was a former owner and operator with Christine, of P and C Home Style Twist ice cream parlor and catering.
Patti enjoyed being with family and friends, going to concerts and enjoyed watching and rooting for the Steelers's.
On June I, 1971 she married Carl M. "Rebel" Askew who died on March 15, 2008.
Surviving are one son, Kevin Shawn Askew of Canonsburg; one sister, Mary Beth (Joel Cook) Ranone of Washington; four brothers, Vincent J. (Barbara) Ranone of Monaca, Ronald J. (Virginia) Ranone of Washington, Keith A. (Nancy) Ranone of Canonsburg; Jeffrey E. Ranone; two step sons, Jeffrey Allen (Debbie) Askew of Houston; Carl Wayne (Lenore) Askew of Sunbury; two granddaughters, Rheannon Levy and Brianna Askew; two great-grandsons, Timothy and Braedon Levy; many nieces and nephews and her faithful companion and close friend Duffy.
Friends are welcome on Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday, July 5, 2010 at noon. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
