P. David Beatty age 63 of Canonsburg, died Monday, August 03, 2009 at 2:10 AM in the Consulate Health Care.
He was born April 7, 1946 in Washington, the son of the late William A. and Beulah L. Carpenter Beatty.
Mr. Beatty served with the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam War, in that time he received National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal with device, Viet Nam Service Medal with one star and Presidential Unit Citation.
He retired as Transportation Operator for the state.
Mr. Beatty lived most of his life in Muse and Canonsburg area.
He was Baptist by faith.
Mr. Beatty was a regular member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, a member of White Eagles, PNU, Labor Temple all of Canonsburg and SNPJ lodge # 138 of Strabane.
He enjoyed spending time and playing with his grandchildren, his dogs Max, Bella and Chee Chee, African Gray parrot "Timmy", also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading.
On March 17, 2000 he married Sherran Darnley, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, John R. (Ashley) Zilich of McDonald; two daughters, Paula (Jim) Tilger of Southview and Tami (Albert) McDonald of Muse; five grandchildren; sister, Betty Hamilton of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased also are four brothers, William A., Jr., Robert L., Donald E., and Ronald A. Beatty.
Friends are welcome on Friday, August 7, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, where military service will be held at 12:00 PM noon on Saturday, August 8, 2009. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. Full Military rites will be accorded by the combined honor guard Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston.
