Nicholas S. Luisi

Nicholas S. Luisi, age 82 of Canonsburg, died Saturday December 27, 2008 in Canonsburg General Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born February 1, 1926 in Butler, a son of the late Antonio and Concetta Luisi. Mr. Luisi lived most of his life in Canonsburg where he was a member of St. Patrick church. He had served with the Merchant Marines during World War II and as a Corporal with the United States Army during the Korean War, where he received many
Citations and medals for his service. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a Supervisor in Production Control at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries in Canonsburg.
Mr. Luisi was a member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel 3291 of Canonsburg, a former member and past President of the Canonsburg-Houston Kiwanis Club and was an avid golfer.
On June 20, 1948 he married Carmela J. Lucchitti who survives. Also surviving are three sons; Nicolas Paul Luisi, of Clearwater, Fla., David John Luisi, of Ft. Pierce, Fla. And Donald Mark (Patricia) Luisi of Bulger one brother, Anthony (Mary) Luisi of Houston, a granddaughter Rachel Carmela Holler, two grandsons Andrew Anthony and Nicholas Donald Luisi ,a step granddaughter Nicole Branson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are four brothers, Michael, Carl, John and Dan Luisi, and a sister Filomena Spadoni.

304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, where a blessing service will be held at 9:00am followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 9:30 am in St. Patrick Church, with Father Joseph Luisi as celebrant. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Knights of Columbus counsel 3291 will have a service at 7:30pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
Full military rites will be accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 191 of Canonsburg and the American Legion post 902 of Houston Honor Guard.
