Nicholas (Nick) Kapustynski died December 8, 2011 at the Donnell House in Washington, after an illness of several months.
He was born August 30, 1930 in Robinson Township, a son of the late John and Eva (Roman) Kapustynski.
Mr. Kapustynski served in the Untied States Army Signal Corps as Corporal during the Korean War. After serving he worked at Coopers Industries until his disability retirement in 1989. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local 3968. Mr. Kapustynski was also o member of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church where he had previously served as a deacon. He also was an avid gardener and animal lover.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Linda (Fincham) Kapustynski, beloved daughter, Julie (John) Tatano, beloved granddaughter, Olivia Tatano, who was the joy of his life and whom be babysat for the last four years. Also surviving are two sisters, Sophia (Vince) Braddock of Canonsburg, Eva Ballard of Philadelphia, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased also are brothers, John, Mike and Pete Kapustynski and sisters, Tillie Koraido, Nancy Zelenko, Pearl DeFelice, Anna " Annie" Stiffler, Katherine "Katie" Zuleba, Helen "Olga" Shvedoff and Mary Uchal.
Friends are welcome on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 10:00 am with Reverend Donald Austin officiating. Interment will follow in Chartiers Hill Cemetery, Canonsburg.
Full military honors will be accorded by the combined honor guard VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston. Family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Washington Hospice or Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside, in memory of Nick
