Nell Heisler age 100 of Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care in Washington, died Friday April 29, 2011 in Donnell House. She was born September 11, 1910 in Pittsburgh a daughter of John and Ursula Herman. She graduated from Oliver High School and had worked in the business office of W.T. Grant in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Heisler lived in North Strabane Twp. for 25 years. Upon retirement from the family farm the Heislers moved to Saegertown in Crawford County. After Mr. Heisler's Death she moved back to the Heritage House in Houston to be close to her family. Mrs. Heisler was living at Southmont, where she had many friends, at the time of her death. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting and puzzles.
On April 28, 1931 she married Richard G. Heisler who died October 24, 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Carol H. DeWitt and Norinne H. Pacific both of Canonsburg, a brother John Amszi of Butler, five grandchildren, Cristianne Geertman, Robert (Marlene) DeWitt, Cara (Barry) Pacific Campbell, Susan (Ralph) Pacific Mobley and Lisa Pacific, eight great grandchildren, Ashley, Justin and Joshua DeWitt, Brent and Ally Campbell and Brady, Jake and Delaney Mobley.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday May 2, 2011 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, where services will be held at 1pm Tuesday May 3, 2011 with reverend Donald Austin officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Mrs. Heisler's family suggests donations be made to Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care.
