Nancy Gayle McElhany age 76 of Lone Pine died unexpectedly Thursday January 20, 2011 in Washington Hospital. She was born April 22, 1934 in Canton Twp. a daughter of the late Ivan Earl and Ruby Frances Lewis Grim.
Mrs. McElhaney lived most of her life in Lagonda. She was a 1971 graduate of California Stated Teachers College and taught for 27 years in the McGuffy School District. Mrs. McElhaney attended Lone Pine Christian Church where she taught Bible school. She was a Girl Scout leader.
On June 16, 1951 she married Harry B. McElhaney who survives. Also surviving are two daughters Peggy (Frank) Baker of Carlisle, Sue (Jules) Sedlitsky of Lone Pine, a son Michael D. (Dawn) McElhaney of West Virginia, five grandchildren, Rob Easterbrook, Rachel McElhaney, Ben (Caitlin) McElhaney, Dylan and Daniel Sedlitsky, three brothers, Jack Grim of N. C., Robin O'Brien of Arkansas, and Wayne Grim of Michigan, two sisters, Jean Hough of Arizona and Karen Kellogg of Michigan, two half brothers, Barry and Dennis Grim and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers William Brooks and Roy Grim, three sisters Debbie Sanger and Joy Lee and Nola Vale Grim who died in infancy and a half brother, Roy Grim.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Monday January 24, 2011 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 11am Tuesday January 25, 2011 with Josh Sonoga Pastor of the Lone Pine Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Washington Women's Shelter
