Mildred L. "Mitzi" Poznick

June 24, 1922 — March 2, 2011

Mildred L. "Mitzi" Poznick age 88 of Washington died Wednesday March 2, 2011 surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was born June 24, 1922 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Foster and Rose Urbanic Parrish.
Mrs. Poznick lived most of her life in Meadowlands and was a homemaker. She had been employed as an aide at the Washington Hospital and worked at the former R.C.A. plant in Canonsburg. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts and crossword puzzles and was an avid Steelers fan that always looked forward to spending time with her family.
On November 26, 1947 she married Frank Poznick who died May 3, 1977. She is survived by her daughter Denice (Donald) Walthour of Washington, two sons, John Zylo of Meadowlands and Ronald (Linda) Poznick of Washington, a brother William Verosko of Meadowlands, three grandchildren, Kirk Zylo, Rashelle and Shawn Walthour, and two great grandchildren Colby and Dunkin Zylo. Deceased in addition to her husband is a granddaughter Pam Zylo and a brother Francis Verosko.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg where a blessing service will be held at 9 am Saturday March 5, 2011. Followed by a Divine Liturgy a 9:30 am in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church with the Reverend Joseph Jugan as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery Washington. Mrs. Poznick's family suggests memorial contributions be made to St Michael Byzantine Catholic Church 166 East College Street Canonsburg 15317.
