Mike "Rip" Pallaria age 82 of Muse died at 5:55pm Sunday, January 8, 2012 in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. He was born July 2, 1929 in Canonsburg a son of Nick and Maria Persano Pallaria.
Mr. Pallaria lived most of his life in the Muse and Canonsburg area. He had served as a Corporal with United States Army Infantry from July 11, 1951 to June 4, 1953. Prior to his retirement in 1993 he had been employed as a winder at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries in Canonsburg and was formerly a truck driver for Chartiers Cinder Block. A former member of Falcon Archers, he enjoyed wood working fishing and camping at Erie. He leaves behind his dog Jingles. On March 6, 1954 he married Janet L. Lytle who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Kathleen Pallaria of Canonsburg, Audrey (Robert) Rondinelli of Fredericktown and Kimberly (Thomas) Erbrecht of Muse, four grandchildren, Jason and David Roninelli, Zachary Erbrecht and Sarah Erbrecht; four great grandchildren, Jeremy Joseph and Michael Thomas Dyczewski, Evelyn Francis Erbrecht and Anamia Rondinelli and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are two sisters, Mary L. Tatano who died April 25, 1992 and Nicoline Carosone who died February 22, 2011.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where services will be held at 10 am Wednesday January 11, 2012 with the reverend David Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies; Cecil Twp. Full military rites will be accorded by the VFW post 191 of Canonsburg and the American Legion post 902 of Houston honor guard.
