Michael “Kevin” Dooey age 72 of Hamilton, NJ passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, after enduring a ten-year struggle with prostate cancer, with his devoted wife by his side. Michael was born May 17, 1950, in Doylestown a son of the late Hugh A. and Katherine Austin Dooey. He was a 1968 graduate of Steinhart High School and attended Mercer County Community College obtaining an Associate Degree and Trenton State College. He had been employed for many years in the networking field for various IT companies in the Princeton, New Jersey area. He retired from the state of New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Aging in early 2021, due to health issues. Mike was a man of many talents. He was first and foremost a “true artist” in every sense of the word. He was a musician, songwriter, photographer, artist, dog trainer and studied martial arts for many years. Mike loved all animals, especially training his own German Shepherds Nike and Cheyenne who were his constant companions. He was a kind, caring, compassionate, courteous, non-judgmental and a very “pure of heart” individual. Kevin was also very proud of his Irish heritage. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years Patty (Bernardi) Dooey, formerly of Muse, his sister Cathy (Phil) McAuliffe of Hamilton, NJ, his nephews, Eric Comisky, Michael and Adam (Qinglan) Traub and several cousins in Northern Ireland, and throughout the U.S. Deceased in addition to his parents are his sister, Patricia Comisky, his sister-in-law Joyce Ann Traub and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are welcome to attend a grave side Catholic blessing service to be held at 10 am Saturday July 9, 2022, at West Point Cemetery, Cross Creek Twp, Avella. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
