Michael William Maceiko age 61 of Canonsburg passed away at 1:00 am Tuesday April 4, 2017 in the Donnell House Washington, with his beloved mother by his side, following a hard-fought battle with colon cancer. He was born April 28, 1955 a son of Frances (Fetcko) Maceiko of Canonsburg and the late Mike Maceiko and was raised Catholic. A 1973 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School where he was known to most everyone as “Sake” or “Mikey”, he was an avid Steelers, Pirate and Penguins fan. Michael was employed at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in the facilities department, a job he loved and treated his fellow employees as family. He was a member of many social clubs including the Labor Temple, PNU Club, French Club, White Eagles Society all in Canonsburg, with one of his favorite stops being Jimmy G’s Bar and Grill where he considered the staff to be very close friends. Michael enjoyed walking and greeting people he came upon with a hello, a big smile and a thumb’s up.

Surviving in addition to his mother are three brothers; Richard (Donna) Maceiko and Robert Maceiko both of Canonsburg and David (Sarah) Maceiko of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Two nieces; Tiffany and Allie Maceiko and two nephews; Tyler and Nick Maceiko, two uncles; Frank (Jean) Fetcko of Canonsburg and Ron (Jan) Fetcko of Rockwood Michigan and various cousins. Deceased in addition to his father are his paternal grandparents Nick and Mary (Lazor) Maceiko and his Maternal Grandparents, Frank and Mary (Waschuck) Fetcko.

Friends are welcome from 4-8pm Friday April 7, 2017 and 9am to 11am Saturday April 8, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where Catholic blessing services will be held at 9:30am Saturday. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery will be private.
