Michael Allen Gostic, Sr., 62, of Strabane, died Saturday, January 24, 2009, in Donnell House. He was born June 11, 1946 in Washington, a son of Joseph and Margaret Nemeth Gostic. Mr. Gostic attended Canon-McMillan High school and graduated from Pittsburgh Technical Institute June of 1972.
Mr. Gostic was an avid golfer, bowler and sports enthusiast.
Before his retirement, he worked for 25 years at Sears Service Center as a service technician.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn White Gostic; three daughters, Holly Gregory, Amy Grala and Denise Jones; two sons, Michael Gostic Jr. and Jeffrey Gostic; three brothers, John, Raymond and Martin Gostic; and a sister Monica Hohn; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Thomas Michael Gostic, who died in infancy; and a sister, Barbara Bird.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, January 28 in the funeral home with Pastor Edward Popovich officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
