Matthew S. Alterio

Matthew S. Alterio age 42 of Pittsburgh, formerly of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday November 30, 2014 in his home with his loving family by his side following and extended illness. He was born December 10, 1971 in Washington a son of Michael J. and Peggy Cage Alterio of Canonsburg. Matt was raised in Canonsburg where he had been a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and was a 1991 graduate of Canon McMillan High School. He was a graduate of Point Park University with as degree in Performing Arts Management. Matt was an entertainer and was last employed as a pianist at Sing-Sing Dueling Pianos. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church at the time of his passing. On June 11, 2005 he married Mara Jobes who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents is his fifteen month old son, Noah Matthew Alterio, two brothers; Michael J. Alterio Jr. of Reading, Mark A. (Reby) Alterio of McMurray and Michelle J. Krol of Washington, five nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Wednesday and Thursday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/ supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 am Friday December 5, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in St. Patrick RC Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg with interment to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
